Lifestory is promoting the redevelopment of 15 London Street, Chertsey, as a dedicated retirement home consisting of 26 homes. This will involve an extension of the existing building by a storey, as well as a four-storey extension to the side of the existing building.
The redeveloped building will have three standards storeys, and the top storey will be a roof with rooms in.
The new building will have 14 car parking spaces provided and new landscaping features.
A financial contribution will be made to Runnymede Borough Council to provide affordable housing.
Existing Building
The application site is located just a short distance from the High Street and is surrounded by a variety of commercial and residential properties varying in height and in architecture.
The existing building at 15 London Street is 2.5 storeys in height, with rooms in the roof. It is a substantial office building with no special architectural or historical merit.
The remainder of the site comprises of hard standing used for access and parking.
