Heritage and Landscaping

Heritage:

  • A study of the surrounding context has been undertaken to understand the potential impact the scheme could have on the area.
  • Historic England has been consulted at pre-application stage in relation to potential indirect impacts of the site.
  • The proposed windows will follow the same pattern and dimensions of the existing building.
  • Proposed brickwork features will be added at a later stage.
  • The existing lift to the front of the property will be hidden behind the roofscape.
  • The roofscape has been re-designed to make this element more inclusive.
  • A desk based archaeological assessment report would be commissioned and provided as part of the application submission.
  • The proposed top storey (third floor) has been designed to minimise it’s verticality by proposing a mansard roof with dormer windows.

Landscaping:

  • The lounge area for residents is connected to a new external amenity area.
  • The plant area is located facing the parking.
  • The refuse area has been located externally, where we will also be providing 14 car parking spaces.
  • Quality landscape and amenity opportunities are being proposed around the entire site, and in particular along the western edge where landscaping features are being proposed.
  • We have started a conversation with Surrey County Council to coordinate access from the rear of the development to the green area north of the scheme in order to generate site permeability for residents.
