The South Worcestershire Development Plan

  • Tibberton is described in the current South Worcestershire Development Plan as a Category 3 village, meaning it has at least one key service (other than a parish / village hall) and has access to at least a daily bus service to a nearby town. Category 3 villages are considered able to help meet locally identified market and affordable housing needs.
  • The South Worcestershire Development Plan is currently under review. The Preferred Options Consultation document, published in November 2019, proposes to upgrade Tibberton to a Category 2 village, in recognition of its good access to services and public transport as identified in the 2019 Village Facilities and Rural Transport Study.
  • The Preferred Options Consultation document proposes an allocation of 26 homes on an area of 1.45 hectares at the southern end of the site, to be accessed off Evelench Lane. We have previously submitted representations as part of the Preferred Options consultation that a larger area of the land is suitable for development. It is for this reason that we are now consulting on proposals for around 100 homes.
