L&Q Estates have undertaken a process of community consultation and engagement for the development of land off Gavray Drive, Bicester and submitted a planning application to Cherwell District Council in 2021. The application remains undetermined and is currently being considered by Cherwell District Council.
We have formed a new Community Interest Company (CIC) to own and manage Gavray Meadows after any planning application is approved by Cherwell District Council.
Gavray Community Meadows Ltd will own and manage Gavray Meadows securing its future as a precious wildlife haven. Since June 2022 when Gavray Community Meadows held a successful community open event, Gavray Community Meadows Ltd has been preparing to take ownership of the land after any planning application is approved. The land is currently allocated in Cherwell District Council’s Local Plan, adopted in July 2015. We have submitted a new outline planning application (21/03358/OUT) for a comprehensive scheme across the entire site, including residential development and associated infrastructure together with a strategy for the protection and restoration of Gavray Drive Meadow Local Wildlife Site and Conservation Target Area(see the Gavray Community Meadows website here). We are committed to continue working with the local community to achieve something we all can be proud of for generations to come. L&Q Estates are in discussions with Cherwell District Council to resolve outstanding matters to allow the planning application to be determined by the authority.

Site investigation work has taken place in order to check groundwater conditions and carry out site investigations. To enable these works, some scrub/vegetation clearance occurred. Please click here for more information. Further site works took place for 6 days from 26th April 2021.
