Gavray Meadows Community Interest Company

Gavray Community Meadows Ltd will own and manage Gavray Meadows securing its future as a precious wildlife haven. Since June 2022 when Gavray Community Meadows held a successful community open event, Gavray Community Meadows Ltd has been preparing to take ownership of the land after any planning application is approved.

 

Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report

L&Q Estates have submitted an Environmental Impact Assessment Scoping Report to Cherwell District Council seeking their view on what impacts should be assessed as part of the proposals for land off Gavray Drive, Bicester. Survey work is on-going, including ecological surveys.

Once complete, an Environmental Statement will be produced alongside other specific technical studies such as drainage and transport assessments.

This process, along with consultation, will guide the proposals that will be submitted as part of an outline planning application.

 

Site Investigation Work

Site investigation work took place earlier this year in order to check groundwater conditions and to carry out site investigations. To enable these works, some scrub/vegetation clearance occurred.

Please find below plans detailing the scrub clearance and site investigation locations, including a working method note from EDP, the ecologists who oversaw the works.

The works are detailed in the plans below and are all some distance from the brook and outside of the ecological designations on the site.

L&Q Estates engaged with Cherwell District Council, Save Gavray Meadows and the Langford Village Community Association to inform them of the scope of works and the working methodology.
