Review: Virtual Politics of Planning Roundtable with Cllr Chris Turrell

SP Broadway was delighted to welcome Cllr Chris Turrell, Executive Member for Planning and Transport at Bracknell Forest Council as the guest speaker of our latest online Politics of Planning roundtable.

Attendees from Taylor Wimpey, Sovereign, Boyer Planning, Bloor Homes and more all contributed to the discussion on planning in Bracknell Forest. Topics of discussion included the recently submitted Bracknell Forest Local Plan, the duty of co-operation between neighbouring councils and local infrastructure.

Cllr Turrell gave an insightful overview of politics and planning in Bracknell Forest speaking in detail about the emerging Local Plan and other emerging policy documents. Cllr Turrell also spoke about the constraints of the area and commented on the importance of community consultation.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Cllr Turrell and guests for attending and contributing to such an interesting discussion. Our next online event will be with Cllr Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Leader of Portsmouth City Council on Wednesday 26th January. We also have in the diary a roundtable with Cllr Andrew Johnson, Leader of the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead on Thursday 17th February.
