Review: Virtual Politics of Planning Roundtable with Cllr David Coppinger

SP Broadway was delighted to welcome Cllr David Coppinger, Lead Member for Planning at Windsor & Maidenhead Borough Council, as the guest speaker of our latest online Politics of Planning roundtable.

Attendees from Catesby Estates, Inland Homes, Lichfields, Countryside Properties and other industry names contributed to the discussion on planning in Windsor and Maidenhead. Topics of the discussion included the Windsor & Maidenhead Local Plan, which the Council aim to adopt by the end of 2021. The issues of resourcing, localism and sustainability were also focal points of the discussion.

Cllr Coppinger gave an insightful overview of the challenges of planning in Windsor & Maidenhead, particularly the constraints faced by the Borough’s 83% of Green Belt land. Cllr Coppinger also spoke about the need for housing and infrastructure to work for everyone in the community.

We would like to place on record our thanks to Cllr David Coppinger and guests for attending and contributing to such an interesting discussion. Our next online event will be with Cllr Johnny Thalassites, Lead Member for Planning, Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea on 28 April, followed by Cllr David Tutt, Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, on 27 May.
