Land East of Kingston Bagpuize
A New Link Road
Spread the love

Our proposals don’t just include new homes – we are also proposing to deliver a new link road, connecting the A420 (Oxford Road) and the A415 (Abingdon Road), which would take through-traffic out of the village centre.

Currently the A420 and the A415 meet just outside Kingston Bagpuize, and as a result much of the traffic flowing between Swindon and Abingdon (and beyond) travels through the centre of the village. This flow of traffic creates noise and congestion, and can pose a safety hazard for pedestrians, particularly at busy times.

We think that the land east of Kington Bagpuize offers the opportunity to reduce this flow of traffic. A link road, connecting the A420 in the north to the A415 in the south, would put the join of the two roads well to the east of the current location, meaning that through-traffic would bypass the village.
