Event Review: Bath & NE Somerset Council breakfast with Cllr Matt McCabe

SP Broadway were delighted to welcome Cllr Matt McCabe, Cabinet Member for Built Environment, Housing and Sustainable Development at Bath & NES Council, as the guest speaker for our latest online Politics of Planning roundtable.

Attendees from Berkeley, Barratt and Mace, among others, all contributed to the discussion. Topics covered included the emerging Local Plan, especially the areas uplifted housing targets, its significant constraints, and the major new proposed sites.

Cllr McCabe gave an in-depth overview of the planning landscape in the area, including updates on policies relating HMOs, PBSA and high density housing. There was further discussion about employment space, the two universities in Bath and the importance of masterplanning. Conversations about topics such as public and parish council consultation, Homes England and the West England Combined Authority were also informative for guests.
