SP Broadway hosts Politics of Planning Breakfast with Cllr Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council

On Wednesday 25th April SP Broadway hosted a Politics of Planning breakfast discussion with Cllr Georgia Gould, Leader of Camden Council, who had taken time out of her local election campaign to attend.

Among those attending the discussion were representatives from Taylor Wimpey, DP9, Child Graddon Lewis, BNP Paribas and WYG.

During the discussion Cllr Gould discussed HS2 and the opportunities at the ongoing Kings Cross Central redevelopment as a hub of technology, arts and innovation.

Other topics discussed included:

  • Providing local residents with greater opportunities to engage in the planning process via Citizens’ Assemblies.
  • The importance of genuinely affordable housing and making sure Camden’s ‘social mix’ does not change too much.
  • The rapid growth of Camden over the last two decades and the council’s risk-taking attitude to retain value in the borough.
  • Improved transparency over CIL payments

Warm thanks to Cllr Gould and guests for their contributions to a fascinating discussion.
