2025 – The Year in Review

We have had another busy year at SP Broadway, providing political and community engagement support on a whole host of proposals across the country – Staffordshire to Somerset, Canterbury to the Cotswolds, and Wiltshire to Westminster.

In a year which has seen wave after wave of changes to our planning system, we have delivered clear and consistent communication for our clients – sharing your vision with politicians, residents and local media.

We’ve delivered bespoke communication schemes for a wide array of residential projects – ranging from large strategic land holdings to small village extensions – and engaged with stakeholders of every description, from individual parish councillors and neighbourhood community groups, all the way to city-spanning heritage organisations and Members of Parliament.

Outside of our growing housebuilder and land promoter client list, we’ve also worked alongside renewable energy companies, film studios, hotels, household retailers and universities this year, supporting the government’s mission to “build, baby, build”! Perhaps the crown jewel of this work was our two high-profile data centre consents – both on the outskirts of London.

We’ve also continued hosting our ‘Politics of Planning’ roundtables, featuring senior councillors from areas such as Southampton, Bath and Medway, with an event with Cllr Cowcher of Stratford-on-Avon already lined up for the New Year.  This year, we have also expanded the range of our guest speakers – hosting events with key industry figures such as Andrew Taylor (Vistry Group) and Philip Barnes (Barratt Redrow), former Local Government Minister Simon Hoare MP, and a special “In Conversation” event with Housing Minister Matthew Pennycook MP at the Labour Party Conference.

Looking forward, we will continue to support many of our ongoing projects through the later stages of the planning process, assisting with pre-committee and post-approval communications for schemes across the country, whilst pressing on with a whole new wave of projects in an industry challenging itself to meet the government’s 1.5 million home target.

Wherever you find yourself this Christmas, we wish you a peaceful and restful break, and we look forward to supporting you and your projects in 2026.

Happy Christmas and best wishes,

The SP Broadway Team
