Event Review: Philip Barnes (Group Land and Planning Director, Barratt Redrow)
SP Broadway was delighted to welcome Philip Barnes, Group Land and Planning Director at Barratt Redrow, as the guest speaker for our latest online Politics of Planning roundtable. Attendees from Savills, Stantec, Lioncourt and Pigeon, among others, all contributed to the discussion.
Philip gave an in-depth overview of Barratt Redrow’s progress and financial position post-merger, and elaborated on the type and scale of sites that the company are seeking to purchase. He also highlighted some of the company’s medium-term plans.
There was further discussion about a range of topical talking points in the industry, including grey belt, affordable housing and local government re-organisation. Discussions around construction capacity, planning authority resourcing and demand-side factors in the housing market were also informative for participants.
